BY CAR
If you are travelling by car to Dawson Scenic Tours
the three major roads leading from the south, west and north all
cross around Hexham, where you join a different road which takes
you onto Nelson Bay, Port Stephens.
From Sydney take the Freeway or Pacific Highway North
past Newcastle, and then further north to Hexham. From here follow
signs for Nelson Bay.
From Dubbo take the New England Highway to Hexham
and then follow signs for Nelson Bay (continue as if coming from
Sydney).
From the north east coast take the Pacific Highway
south until you come to Raymond Terrace. Exit this road here, heading
towards Nelson Bay (continue as if coming from Sydney).
Once you are on the Nelson Bay Road, continue until
you reach the Anna Bay roundabout. Turn right into Gan Gan Road (Northern End),
and you will find the departure point for all Dawson Scenic Tours
at the Birubi Point Lower Car Park .
BY BUS
Port Stephens Coaches offer transportation between Port Stephens and Sydney via two major routes, the Sydney Express and the Sydney Explorer. Port Stephens Coaches also offers services between Newcastle and Fingal Bay including the Newcastle Airport, as well as servicing areas between and including Raymond Terrace, Soldiers Point and Nelson Bay. Port Stephens Coaches also have a large variety of coaches available for private charter and hire.
The Sydney Express runs every day except Christmas Day from Port Stephens to Sydney. The one way journey takes approximately four hours. The Sydney Explorer runs daily between Sydney and Port Stephens. The one way journey takes approximately three and a half hours.

NOTE: Concession prices include pensioners, children under 15 years of age and students. For the Sydney Explorer children under 3 who are travelling with an adult and not occupying a seat travel free. There is also a group discount available. For every 10 passengers, one passenger travels free of charge.
BY TRAIN
Trains travel as far as Newcastle, although from
here you will need to catch one of the Port Stephens Coaches. There
are several trains arriving daily from Sydney, with further trains
arriving from Brisbane and other places along the North East coast.
BY PLANE
Newcastle Airport is approximately 20 minutes drive
from the Dawson Scenic Tours departure point. Daily flights arrive into Newcastle Airport from
Sydney, Northern New South Wales and Queensland. If you are arriving
at any other airport then you will need to take either a bus or
train to Newcastle.
